Harry Potter Filming Boost

A major HBO adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s novels has been filming around Devon and Cornwall, bringing a big on-location production to the region.

Crew members have been spotted at Cornish spots such as Cadgwith and Carnglaze Caverns, and people in the south west say the shoot is a huge boost for the area.

Terry Burton visited Kynance Cove to photograph the crew and described the project as “going to be fantastic,” adding that an operation of this scale is hugely significant for Cornwall.

In Devon, Luke Smith, landlord of the Cleave Inn in Lustleigh near Bovey Tracey, said the pub will be closed for filming on Wednesday and Thursday.

Smith added that the only detail the hospitality team had been given was the production’s working name, “Brown Cat.”

According to Mr Smith, filming has brought an increased security presence and temporary road closures to the village.

He said Lustleigh, usually a quiet spot, has been buzzing with activity.

The arrival of the crew led to a noticeable rise in visitors, producing one of the busiest weekends the village has seen.

Mr Smith added that any boost that brings more people to local businesses is welcomed.
