Path of Exile 2 introduces players to a revamped and refined version of many classic endgame systems from the original PoE, and one of the most intense and rewarding of these is The Simulacrum. This complex arena-style encounter tests your build, your reflexes, and your understanding of game mechanics like no other, offering some of the POE 2 Currency best loot and XP in the game—if you can survive it.

In this in-depth guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about The Simulacrum in Path of Exile 2, including how it works, how to access it, what to expect from the waves and bosses, the rewards, and tips for success.

What Is the Simulacrum in Path of Exile 2?
The Simulacrum is an endgame challenge arena where players face increasingly difficult waves of enemies in a tightly controlled environment. Originally introduced in PoE 1's Delirium League, this encounter has returned in Path of Exile 2 as a more integrated and balanced endgame feature, with tweaks to pacing, loot, and mechanical depth.

Players enter a warped, dreamlike dimension created from Delirium, the haunting mirror-world of corrupted thoughts and reality. Within this realm, enemies become progressively stronger, faster, and more dangerous with each wave, culminating in boss battles that test even the most refined builds.

How to Access the Simulacrum in PoE 2
To enter The Simulacrum, you’ll need to collect Simulacrum Fragments, which drop from Delirium encounters throughout Wraeclast. Once you’ve gathered enough, they can be used to open a Simulacrum portal via your map device or the new endgame interface in PoE 2’s Atlas system.

Requirements:
Simulacrum Fragments (usually 5 to open a full run).

Access to the endgame Atlas or equivalent area.

A build capable of handling dense mob packs, DoTs, and scaling difficulty.

Simulacrum Structure: How It Works
The Simulacrum consists of 30 escalating waves, each one harder than the last. Every 5 waves, the difficulty ramps up significantly, and players may encounter powerful bosses or new enemy modifiers.

Basic Structure:
Wave-Based Combat: Each wave spawns in a contained arena. Defeat all enemies to progress.

Rising Delirium: As you progress, Delirium fog thickens, modifying enemies further.

Boss Encounters: Unique bosses appear at milestone waves (10, 20, 25, and 30).

Rewards: Currency, splinters, cluster jewels, and valuable loot scale with wave count.

Key Modifiers:
Increased enemy damage and movement speed.

Added elemental or chaos damage.

Area of effect increases and crowd control effects.

Random buffs like “enemies explode on death,” “resist all elements,” etc.

Bosses of the Simulacrum
The Simulacrum features exclusive boss fights, some returning from PoE 1 and others new to PoE 2. These bosses are extremely lethal and require mechanical awareness.

Examples:
1. Omniphobia, Fear Manifest
High HP and heavy slam attacks.

Uses a massive AoE ground slam with a short tell—avoid at all costs.

Vulnerable to DoT and ranged builds.

2. Kosis, The Revelation
Deals massive chaos and physical damage.

Spawns tentacles and creates chaos degeneration zones.

Requires constant movement and chaos resistance.

3. New PoE 2 Simulacrum Bosses (Spoilers Possible)
Some are Delirium-themed horrors with new mechanics like mirror clones, memory bombs, or reality shifts.

Each has multiple phases, and many are resistant to traditional ailments like freeze or chill.

Tip: Bosses always drop valuable loot—try to reach at least wave 20 for the buy POE 2 Exalted Orbs best return on your fragments.
